One of the things Russ was looking forward
to during our stay in Germany was the opportunity to work with a number
of collaborators, particularly in Denmark and Switzerland. The first leg
of our 2 1/2 week trek was to Copenhagen, where Russ spent the weekend
working at the Denmark Technical University, while I explored the city
on my own, only getting seriously lost once.
Denmark is a country of islands. The mainland, connected to
northern Germany, is known as the Jutland. Copenhagen is on the
island of Zealand, and in between lies the garden island of Fyn.
We decided to spend the first night in Fyn, allowing us some time to
wander around and visit the castle of Egeskov before heading on to
Copenhagen. Russ finished his programming work on Sunday, leaving
us Monday to explore the island of Zealand.
