The island of Fyn is probably best known as the home of Hans Christian Andersen, but we had also heard it was absolutely beautiful in its own right.  We were staying in a small hotel in the countryside, which gave us the perfect opportunity to drive around and oooh-aaahh at everything.  Denmark has a network of scenic drives, collectively known as the "Margarite Route" in honor of the queen.  We spent as much time as possible on these 'daisy roads', as we affectionately them (the route is marked by daisy signs), even following them on the return trip across the island.  After all, who would wait in traffic if there was all this to go see?
.

Leaving the Jutland by ferry, we're headed for the garden island of Fyn.
