For my first solo excursion, I chose
Rosenborg Slot and its royal gardens. The castle, finished
in 1624 under the reign of Christian IV, houses the royal jewels and a
number of exhibitions, including dresses of the Danish queens. I
spent my time exploring the gardens, which also date back to the 17th
century.
Not quite what I expected to find in Scandinavia These are the oldest royal gardens in Denmark, planned at the same time as the castle itself. Rhododendrons of all colors were in full bloom.
